“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps” (Prov. 16:9).
“For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man’s misery weighs heavily upon him” (Eccles. 8:6).
“Also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will” (Eph. 1:11).
“This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Eph. 3:11).
“Who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity”(2 Tim. 1:9).
“The one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).
“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please” (Isa. 46:10).
“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations” (Ps. 33:11).
Prayer: Lord, what comfort in knowing that You are causing all things to work together for good to those who love You, to those who are called according to Your purpose.
