December 3—Perishing

The word for today is perishing.

“And the Lord said to him, ‘Go down and warn the people so they do not force their way through to see the Lord and many of them perish’” (Exod. 19:21).

“For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish” (Ps. 1:6).

“For all can see that wise men die; the foolish and the senseless alike perish and leave their wealth to others” (Ps. 49:10).

“Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you” (Ps. 73:27).

“They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded” (Ps. 102:26).

“All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish” (Isa. 41:11).

“For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined” (Isa. 60:12).

“I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

“And I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:28).

Prayer: Lord, Your words through Ezekiel grip my heart this morning: “Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?’”
