BusynessThe word for today is patience.

“Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand” (James 5:7-8).

“That you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Heb. 6:12).

“Strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously” (Col. 1:11).

“In purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love” (2 Cor. 6:6).

“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love” (Eph. 4:1-2).

“Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near” (Phil. 4:5).

“And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a com plaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you” (Col. 3:12-13).

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction” (2 Tim. 4:2).

“Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant” (1 Cor. 13:4).

Prayer: Lord, remind me of Peter’s commandment, “Therefore, let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful creator in doing what is right.”
