The word for today is gifts.
“But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. … But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. … But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired” (1 Cor. 12:7, 11, 18).
“For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another”(Rom. 12:4-5).
“But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift” (Eph. 4:7).
“And say to Archippus, ‘Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it’” (Col. 4:17).
“Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed upon you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery. Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to all. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things; for as you do this you will insure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you” (1 Tim. 4:14-16).
“And for this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands” (2 Tim. 1:6).
Shaped on His anvil we are tools prepared for His service.
Prayer: Lord, I want to be found by You to be fervent, faithful, and on fire. Help me to use the gifts You have given me to edify others.
