The word for today is convictions.

Joseph said: “… My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?’” (Gen. 39:9).

“At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.’  In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing” (Job 1:20-22).

“But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way” (Dan. 1:8).

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before” (Dan. 6:10).

“By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God, than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin; considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward” (Heb. 11:24-26).

The culture says one thing and You, Lord, say another. Your Word says: “Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of my mind, that I might demonstrate to everyone Your perfect will” (Rom. 12:2).

Prayer: Lord, by Your strength, enable me to stand firm and steadfast against satanic opposition.
