The word for today is listening.
“In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise” (Eph. 1:13).
“Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their disputes to him” (Exod. 18:19).
“Listen carefully to my words; let your ears take in what I say” (Job 13:17).
“When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey him” (Deut. 4:30).
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God” (Rev. 2:7).
“Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old” (Prov. 23:22).
“Like an earring of gold or an ornament of fine gold is a wise man’s rebuke to a listening ear” (Prov. 25:12).
“Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong. Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few” (Eccles. 5:1-2).
“Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing” (Heb. 5:11).
“O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act! For your sake, O my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name” (Dan. 9:19).
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your promise: “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your eyes will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
