March12_CommunicationThe word for today is profanity.

“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name” (Exod. 20:7).

“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear” (Eph. 4:29).

“And there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks” (Eph. 5:4).

“A wise man’s heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction” (Prov. 16:23).

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Prov. 18:21).

“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person” (Col. 4:6).

“A man finds joy in giving an apt reply—and how good is a timely word!” (Prov. 15:23).

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

“Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy”
(Ps. 126:2-3).

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer” (Ps. 19:14).

Prayer: Lord, help me to be a person who is quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
