April30_PrioritiesThe word for today is obedience.

“But Samuel replied: ‘Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams’” (1 Sam. 15:22).

“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Josh. 1:8).

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him” (John 14:21).

“For to this end also I wrote that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things” (2 Cor. 2:9).

“We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5).

“But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves” (James 1:22).

“Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered” (Heb. 5:8).

“Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do, and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James 4:17).

Prayer: Lord, Paul’s glorious words to the Romans fill my mind: “But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed.” How about another verse of “Trust and Obey”?: “Then in fellowship sweet We will sit at His feet, Or we’ll walk by His side in the way. What He says we will do; Where He sends we will go; Never fear, only trust and obey. Trust and obey, For there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus But to trust and obey.”
