Commit your future to the Lord! Trust in him, and he will act on your behalf.
This verse contains two commands and a promise:
(1) “Commit your future to the Lord!” and
(2) “Trust in him.”
He promises to “act on your behalf.” If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up” (Daniel 3:17, 18 (NIV).
Let’s sing the great old hymn: “I don’t know about tomorrow, It may bring me poverty; But the One Who feeds the sparrow, Is the One Who stands by me. And the path that be my portion, May be through the flame or flood, But His presence goes before me, And I’m covered with His blood.”
