November 11—Decision
The word for today is decision.
“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision” (Joel 3:14).
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Josh. 24:15).
“Who, then, is the man that fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him” (Ps. 25:12).
“He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved. Selah” (Ps. 47:4).
“Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple” (Ps. 65:4).
“Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord” (Prov. 1:29).
“He will eat curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right” (Isa. 7:15).
“My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water” (Jer. 2:13).
“Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it” (Matt. 7:13-14).
Prayer: Lord, I am making a fresh commitment to You today. I want You to do all the choosing for me the rest of the way.
