November 17—Bible

The word for today is Bible.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15).

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

“But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves” (James 1:22).

“For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope” (Rom. 15:4).

“When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God Almighty”(Jer. 15:16).

“And for this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received from us the word of God’s message, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe” (1 Thess. 2:13).

“For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does” (Ps. 33:4).

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers” (Ps. 1:1-3).

Prayer: Lord, turn my eyes away from worthless things; renew my life according to Your word.
