“The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time” (Gen. 6:5).

“So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done” (1 Kings 11:6).

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil” (Prov. 3:7).

“Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men” (Prov. 4:14).

“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.]” (Matt. 6:13).

“Abstain from every form of evil” (1 Thess. 5:22).

“But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one” (2 Thess. 3:3).

“Take care, brethren, lest there should be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart, in falling away from the living God” (Heb. 3:12).

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? ‘I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve’” (Jer. 17:9, 10).

Prayer: Lord, wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
