October 27—Law

The word for today is law.

“The Lord said to Moses, ‘Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commands I have written for their instruction’” (Exod. 24:12).

“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Josh. 1:8).

“Hear, O earth: I am bringing disaster on this people, the fruit of their schemes, because they have not listened to my words and have rejected my law” (Jer. 6:19).

“Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law” (Prov. 29:18).

“For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).

“Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39).

“For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law” (Rom. 3:28).

“For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law, but under grace” (Rom. 6:14).

“Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, that we may be justified by faith” (Gal. 3:24).

Prayer: Lord, Your word says: “But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, in order that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
