
August 21—Meditation
The word for today is meditation.
“He went out to the field one evening to meditate, and as he looked up, he saw camels approaching” (Gen. 24:63).
“I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways” (Ps. 119:15).
“In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God” (Ps. 10:4).
“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Josh. 1:8).
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night” (Ps. 1:2).
“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 2:5).
“On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night” (Ps. 63:6).
“I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done” (Ps. 143:5).
“Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to all” (1 Tim. 4:15).
“May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord” (Ps. 104:34).
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer”
(Ps. 19:14).
Prayer: How great are Your works, O Lord, how profound Your thoughts. My prayer for today is that my thoughts will bring You pleasure.
