October 26—Unbelief
The word for today is unbelief.
“And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief” (Matt. 13:58).
“What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it?” (Rom. 3:3).
“Take care, brethren, lest there should be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart, in falling away from the living God. … And so we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief” (Heb. 3:12, 19).
“In whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (2 Cor. 4:4).
“Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?” (2 Cor. 6:14-15).
“Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. And yet I was shown mercy, because I acted ignorantly in unbelief” (1 Tim. 1:13).
“To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled” (Titus 1:15).
“And He said to them, ‘O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!’” (Luke 24:25).
“And they said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household’” (Acts 16:31).
Prayer: Lord, my thoughts turn toward John 20:31: “but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.”
