October 9—Truth

The word for today is truth.

“Then the woman said to Elijah, ‘Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth’” (1 Kings 17:24).

“He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart” (Ps. 15:2).

“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long” (Ps. 25:4-5).

“I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws” (Ps. 119:30).

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth” (Ps. 145:18).

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me’” (John 14:6).

“If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus” (Eph. 4:21).

“For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen” (Rom. 1:25).

“Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart” (1 Pet. 1:22).

“Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:4).

“Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth” (John 17:17).

Prayer: Lord, the words of Jesus ring in my heart: “And You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
