October 8—Oneness
The word for today is oneness.
“‘And I am no more in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to Thee. Holy Father, keep them in Thy name, the name which Thou hast given Me, that they may be one, even as We are. … that they may all be one; even as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be in Us; that the world may believe that Thou didst send Me. And the glory which Thou hast given Me I have given to them; that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, and didst love them, even as Thou didst love Me” (John 17:11, 21-23).
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Gal. 3:28).
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful” (Col. 3:15).
“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills” (1 Cor. 12:11).
“Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like‑minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you” (2 Cor. 13:11).
“With a view to an administration suitable to the fulness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth. In Him” (Eph. 1:10).
“Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose” (Phil. 2:2).
Prayer: Lord, Paul tells the Romans to be devoted to one another in brotherly love. May we, Your children, also be of the same mind toward one another.
