September 24—Light

The word for today is light.

“The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day” (Prov. 4:18).

“Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life’” (John 8:12).

“Many are asking, ‘Who can show us any good?’ Let the light of your face shine upon us, O Lord” (Ps. 4:6).

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Ps. 27:1).

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” (Ps. 119:105).

“For you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness” (1 Thess. 5:5).

“The night is almost gone, and the day is at hand. Let us therefore lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light” (Rom. 13:12).

“Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light” (Col. 1:12).

“And there shall no longer be any night; and they shall not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God shall illumine them; and they shall reign forever and ever” (Rev. 22:5).

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 5:16).

Prayer: You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
