October 5—Direction

The word for today is direction.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Prov. 3:5-6).

“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity” (Prov. 11:3).

“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps” (Prov. 16:9).

“Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory” (Ps. 73:23-24).

“Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path” (Prov. 23:19).

“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail” (Isa. 58:11).

“To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace” (Luke 1:79).

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come” (John 16:13).

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it’” (Isa. 30:21).

Prayer: Lord, teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on the level ground.
